Telugu Association of Greater Delaware Valley (TAGDV) successfully conducted
the 19th annual Telugu cultural competitions and celebrated Ugadi on May 12
2012 at the Penndale Middle School, Lansdale, PA, USA. Music Director Vandematharam
Srinivas, Hero Shivaji, Hero Dr. Harinath Policherla and Heroine Madhurima
attended as Chief guests for this program.
This Twelve-hour event started at 10:00 AM with a welcome speech by Ravi
Potluri, Secretary of TAGDV followed by USA National Anthem. More than 75
participants enrolled and participated in cultural competitions and all the
participants gave an amazing performance. Special thanks to the Cultural
Committee- Raj Kuppuswamy, Shanthi Korutla, Ravi Potluri, Madhu Divyakola
and Harinath Bungatavula for their perfect execution.
The prime
time program started by Secretary Ravi Potluri by inviting chief guests and
introducing MC’s of the program. President Sailaja Adluru gave inspirational
speech followed by felicitation and performances of several chief guests.
Heroine Madhurima distributed prizes for the winners. The presence of guest of
honor Vandematharam Srinivas was the highlight, his one hour performance was
well received by audience. Hero Shivaji gets good response for his dance for
Mayadari Maisamma song. Dr. Harinath Policherla made
elegant appearance which was an added treat for the audience. Heroine Madhurima
entertained the audience with her lovely dialogues and enthusiasm involving the
audience during the show. TAGDV executive members felicitated the chief guests.
MC's Sri Lakshmi and Bhaskar Sarikonda did wonderful job.
Dr. Manan Trivedi , Iraq War veteran and Democratic nominee for
Pennsylvania's 6th congressional district in the 2010 congressional
election, attended as guest and gave motivational speech which inspired all
the audience.
The registration committee Lalitha Rallapalli, Madhavi Mandala, Sambaiah
Kotapati, Padmini Karnam, Suresh Reddy and Venu Bathini worked hard to make
this event grand success. It was an excellent team effort under the
leadership of Sailaja Adluru. The participants and guests were treated with
traditional Andhra vindhu bojanam.
TAGDV Election committee Chairman Mr. Sudhakar Pavuluri and members Mr. Naidu
Motupalli and Mr. Saradhi Kosaraju introduced the New Executive Committee. The
following are the Executive committee members (2012 – 2014), President - Ravi
Potluri , Vice President - Mallikarjun Budhavarapu, Secretary - Harinath
Bungatavula, Joint Secretary - Suresh Reddy Venkannagari, Treasurer -
Sambaiah Kotapati , Joint Treasurer - Vijaybhaskar Polamreddy. Members at
Large: Saritha Anumula, Anupama Donthineni, Sridhar Gudala, Radha Kilambi, Kiran
Kothapalli, Vijayasri Parchuri, Gayathri Ramprasad, Bhaskar Sarikonda, Tulasi
Ramamohanrao Talluri.
TAGDV Executive Committee thanked Election Committee for their commitment
and dedication.
TAGDV richly felicitated outgoing president Mrs. Sailaja Adluru for her
services to the community and the program ended with a vote of thanks from
secretary Ravi Potluri followed by India National Anthem.
